There's always some kind of sports going on in the world. Even now with the Covid virus they're still finding ways to somewhat safely play sports. In this blog I thought I'd talk a little bit about what sports has been like for me in my life.
As far as playing sports goes, I've never played for an actual team before. When I was in grade school I played American football, soccer, basketball, and would also do wrestling and boxing with friends for fun. Basically, I was involved with a variety of sports, but it always just for fun. The closest thing to me being on an actual team was that I did basketball conditioning my junior year of high school, but my shooting was really off during the tryouts. I was never able to dunk on a standard hoop even though I'm 6'2 & a half feet tall, but I was able to dunk on a 9 ft hoop.
I don't actually watch a whole lot of sports on TV. I don't really watch college football because my college, FGCU, doesn't have a football team. The only time I would really watch college football is if my dad's school, the Washington Huskies, was playing on TV. I'll usually watch March Madness if the FGCU Eagles are playing in it to support my school. Fun fact: It was my senior year at FGCU when our Men's Basketball team made it to the tournament for the first time and put our school on the map. That was a really fun time, and even Saturday Night Live mentioned our school in a skit thanks to that. I'll watch soccer when the World Cup is going on. Other than that, I'm a big NFL fan, specifically with the Seattle Seahawks. Being that I'm originally from Washington State, I stick to my origins and root for Seattle.

I've been pretty lucky that my sports team has made it to the playoffs almost every year. Good job to anyone who's a proud football fan of team that might loose a lot, I wouldn't think that's easy. Back in 2011 when we were visiting family in Washington, my dad surprised me with tickets to a live Seahawks game at Century Link Field against the 49ers on Christmas Eve and I was so excited. We lost that game, but it was so much fun to be their in the really loud crowd.
Even my high school football team was really good. I really enjoyed going to the high school football games and hanging out with friends at the games. My junior year of high school, our football team went 15-0 State Champions. We got to take a day off from school to go to the Citrus Bowl in Orlando to watch the Championship game live, and we were on TV. Fun fact: Carlos Hyde who's currently one of the running backs for the Seattle Seahawks was on our high school football that went 15-0. That's right, I went to high school with Carlos Hyde.
Well, that's my little rant about sports. I just so happen to be typing this the same day that the Seahawks are playing in a Monday Night Football game against the Philadelphia Eagles, haha. So until my next blog, I hope you have beautiful days ahead of you.
